Vintage Fred’s Folly studio pottery, an iconic Australian label active from the mid-1970s through the late 1990s. The specific item shown is a chip-and-dip platter, traditionally handcrafted from durable stoneware clay featuring a built-in centre bowl for sauces and a wide outer rim for snacks. Pieces from this studio typically feature distinctive sgraffito or incised geometric patterns scratched through a coloured slip, such as the wave-like bands and central stylized flower seen on your platter.

·         The Founders: The studio was founded and operated by partners Tonia and  Graeme Vertigan. 

·         Timeline: The workshop ran from the mid-1970s until the late 1990s, primarily creating highly collectible functional stoneware.
