This isn’t some amazing unique sculptural piece; it is simply a beautiful little cup that doesn’t even sit fully flat due to a thick blob of blue black glaze on one edge. It is however a beautiful practical use piece made by Serra, a local Istanbul ceramicist and shop owner. She is delightful, her shop tiny and brimming with handicrafts made for the local Turkish people not tourists and exactly what we look for and look to support. Hard working local artisans making beautiful objects.
